Tom Spector began meditating in 1968 while enrolled in a highly selective, intense graduate program at Yale University. He was struggling not only with the curriculum, but also with anger and battered sense of self-esteem when he decided to learn meditation to improve his situation. Meditation seemed to clarify issues and elucidate the best paths forward. He then completed the full PhD Program in record time. He continued to meditate daily, even while he was an International Vice President for Cancer Research for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. In 1976, Tom began teaching meditation to seriously ill people. He soon expanded his teaching to include relatively healthy people within many different organizations, as well as private clients. During this process, Tom began to understand and teach some of the basic fundamentals of healing and inner peace. Our Two Gardens evolved from these 35 years of Tom’s presentations.
